Chrysops striatus - female

Chrysops striatus - Female
Near Isabella, Lake County, Minnesota, USA
July 21, 2007
I think this might be a Chrysops sp. (1) but hopefully Tony will know. Taken in a bog on the Wolf Ridge field trip. The fly was actively biting my knee while I photographed it.

Hoping to see some tabanids
from the meeting/trip. Not so sure about Tom's specimen (looks somewhat wet or oily) on this species' page but am certain of this one,
female striatus

Thanks
Thanks Tony. This fly found me at the first stop, so I thought we'd be in for lots of tabanids, but I only saw one or two more the whole day and wasn't able to photograph them. Hopefully some of the other folks got some.
