Dark flower longhorn - Pidonia ruficollis

Dark flower longhorn - Pidonia ruficollis
Mt. Washington, Coos County, New Hampshire, USA
July 5, 2007
Size: about 8.4 mm
Taken by sweep net from herbaceous flowers and foliage during a break from my Forest Service-approved search for Py*tho str*ictus.

I'll post shots of the beetle in the lower left later.

Pidonia ruficollis -- Doug Yanega det.
sorry guys

Moved from Idiopidonia pedalis.

Great!
Thanks, Doug and Belov. I see I have a bunch of detailed closeups of this species, perhaps this individual, that I may run through PhotoShop and post. (Nope, I checked. Apparently the closeup shots are of a specimen that eclosed from a pupa that I collected in the same area.)

I note the absence of stripes on this specimen as well as the one in my closeup shots.

Moved
Moved from Longhorned Beetles.

I concur...
...Idiopidonia pedalis.

Thanks, Ted.
I was waiting for your input on this one :-)

possibly Idiopidonia pedalis
from Yanega, this possibly looks like Idiopidonia pedalis, which would be a new genus and species for BugGuide :) LeConte's type from the MCZ is seen here, although the side view is incorrect and not the same species. But there's so many similar longhorns, I'd feel better with an expert opinion on this one.

Thanks, Tim.
I'm ashamed to admit that I did not look this one up in Yanega. Slipped right through the cracks.
