Unfortunately, over-exposed - Apoda biguttata
Harms Woods Forest Preserve, Glenview, Cook County, Illinois, USA
July 26, 2007
Size: ~12mm
A caterpillar we found on the Xanthoxylum americanum, which is not listed as a food plant in Wagner of Apoda biguttata, but we're thinking that's what this is. We really don't know much about the other Apodas. There certainly are plenty of oaks around; Wagner lists White Oak as its preferred food plant.
