Camponotus nearcticus? - Camponotus snellingi

Camponotus nearcticus? - Camponotus snellingi
Blue Spring, Shannon County, Missouri, USA
November 5, 2016

Moved
Moved from Ants.

Size? Habitat?
Not C*nearcticus, though.

Size and habitat
Habitat was mixed woodland (primarily deciduous) next to a spring-fed river. If I recall correctly, length was similar to C. floridanus.

As in a fairly large ant, over 1 cm long??
Or, like C. nearcticus, one of the small carpenter ants, maxing out at 8-9mm?.

I'm asking because this seems to be C*snellingi
But if it's the size of C*floridanus, couldn't be.
I have specimens from SE MO.

Hmm..
I can't say for certain, as I never measured it and I'm hesitant to give a definite size from memory.
