Aphalaridae - Craspedolepta suaedae

Aphalaridae - Craspedolepta suaedae
Columbus, Luna County, New Mexico, USA
December 7, 2016
Size: 2 mm
I accidentally crushed this bug's thorax and part of abdomen. This is how the posterior end of its abdomen looked after the unfortunate event.

Moved
Moved from Psylloidea.

Still in good enough shape
Matches perfectly the illustration in Klyver (1931) of C. suaedae (note though that your photo is upside down, as the white secretion (on the bottom in this photo) is secreted from the circumanal pore which is located on the dorsal valve)

I saw the white secretion at the bottom of the photo
and wrongly assumed that it had moved there after crushing the bug. The image now shows the intended position. Thank you Chris!
