Hint of Blue and orange - Platydracus fossator

Hint of Blue and orange - Platydracus fossator
Three Lakes Wilderness Area, Osceola County, Florida, USA
July 26, 2007
Size: 13 mm
This rove beelte is a true Gator fan with his color markings. It is only natural since he hails from Florida. Seriously, this beetle was unearthed in oak hammock forest litter about a couple of inches from the surface. I was digging for a dung beetle when it diverted my attention.
