A modest amount of these creatures inhabit a rose plant. Anyone know what they are? Little black ones and little red ones living together. They don't look like aphids, mites, or ladybug larvae to me.

Yes, are Thrips, prob. Phlaeothripidae, many of which are predaceous on other small criters.
