Probably D. lepeletierii

I'm fairly certain this is another D. lepeletierii. There are no tubercles on the back of the head (which most Florida females have), along with a scutellar scale makes me believe this is D. lepeletierii.

I'm thinking this is some Dasymutilla sp, but you should be able to get a better ID soon. Hopefully I've bumped this page back onto the radar if it wasn't there already, cuz I'd love to see an ID on this gal.

Thanks for taking a look at this pretty wasp. I read your bio page. I too am intersted in Mutillids as I have many unidentified on BG. You may wish to seek out two other Bug Guide members I've chatted with. Their names are Kevin Williams and William Ericson. Do a search on their names and you can get their email if you want to contact them. Also, you may wish to take a look at the following link which is somewhat helpful to family but not genus or species.

Thanks for the info! Yea, I've seen Kevin Williams and William Ericson's great contributions around here and had some contact with them, but that site is new to me -- thanks for the link!

Anyway, I hope your mutillids get IDed soon, because every new ID is a useful tool for my mental index of the family. Maybe one of those two guys will step in and save the day.
