Bob's best guess is the same as mine, however, I do not place these to species since I was told by Maury Heiman that he thought the Tornos were all mixed up and needed to be sorted out. Unfortunately, he never got around to that when he was active on BG. I have tried to study them, but cannnot get comfortable separating the three possibly species in Texas. I DO believe that the Dimorphic Gray is by far the most common.

Thank you both! I got confirmation from Valerie Bugh, who got better photos than I did, that it is indeed Tornos scolopacinaria.

Male - Geometrid Moth
This is a difficult genus, so let the experts decide. I think that this is a male Dimorphic Gray Moth.
Please compare both genders of Tornos scolopacinaria: ♂ ♀ (eastern range)
