Unknown Beetle - Griburius larvatus
Cocoa Beach, Brevard County, Florida, USA
July 28, 2007
Size: 5 mm
This very small beetle was amidst the sand dunes about 20 yards from the Atlantic Ocean. It was among the sea grape and coreopsis like flowers. Sorry I don't know my plants very well. It this a Chrysomelidae?

Moved from Griburius.

reminds us of
Genus Griburius in the guide here. A good place to start while you wait to hear from one of the experts.

Thanks
This beetle looks exactly like the others in the guide and they too are from FL not too far from me, relatively speaking. I appreciate your help. It seemed very distinctive, cute face...if one can call beetles cute. :)

Actually the cute face
is one of the things that caught our eye. Seems that the faces on the different individuals in the guide are all slightly different. We thought that was quite unusual!
