Caterpillar - unidentified

Caterpillar - unidentified
New Bern, NC, Craven County, North Carolina, USA
July 1, 2007
Size: approx. .75 inch
Sorry for the poor quality. Can anyone help me identify this caterpillar? And will it become a moth? It was poised on a Texas Star Hibiscus.

Looks like two pair of abdominal prolegs
so likely a Noctuid and not a Geometrid, but we don't recognize it. One more reason to look forward to Wagner's new book on the Noctuid caterpillars!
