Mayfly - Cloeon dipterum

Mayfly - Cloeon dipterum
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
July 31, 2007
Size: ~15mm.

Moved from Mayflies.

Baetidae--C. dipterum
Although 15mm is oversize for a body-length estimate (head to tip of abdomen), I am convinced that his is a female imago of Cloeon dipterum. In additon to the lack of any visible hindwings, the abdominal markings, the tail markings, the faint cloudiness along the costal margin of the forewings, and the appearance of the head and eyes all match this species.
