grasshopper nymph -
Neoclytus mucronatus
Hueston Woods, Ohio, USA
October 4, 2006
found this little hitchhiker on my husbands arm during a hike last fall at hueston woods. October seemed a bit late for a nymph but not sure what else it could be.....

eek - you got lost!
It is not a grasshopper, and not a nymph, but an adult beetle! Start [url}http://bugguide.net/node/view/14525/bgimage]here[/url] to look for a match . . .

Neoclytus mucronatus.
The spines at the tip of the hind tibia help ID this species. Don't feel bad, longhorns of this ilk often get mistaken for something else.
