for the order ID, Ray. Do you recognize those structures on the posterior end of its abdomen? Are they part of the mite, or some sort of parasite?

Those are setae ("hairs"), indeed, part of the mite.

much for the setae info. They are really strange looking hairs. I've never seen anything like them before on any other mite photos I've taken. :)
