Notiophilus aquaticus

Notiophilus aquaticus
Andaloro Wildlife Management Area, Westville, Gloucester County, New Jersey, USA
September 21, 2016
Size: 5.25 mm
N. aquaticus is not listed for New Jersey in Bousquet's Catalogue. Keyed using Bousquet's guide to Northeastern NA ground beetles, which should cover all species that occur here. Dark femur, single puncture on apical portion of elytron, dark labial palpomere, and minimal microsculpture on elytron should separate it from all other Notiophilus, including N. borealis which shouldn't occur here.
