unknown bug - Melanolestes picipes - Female
Busch Conservation area, St. Charles County, Missouri, USA
July 28, 2007
Size: ~18 mm
A nymph of something, possibly a truebug. Not used to seeing something like this running around on the ground.

Moved
Moved from True Bugs. This is probably an adult female. This species has all-black and red-and-black forms, formerly considered separate species.

I want to say assassin...
but I can't remember which one in particular. Someone else surely knows.
