Ammophila pictipennis ????? - Ammophila

Ammophila pictipennis ????? - Ammophila
Elizabeth, Elbert County, Colorado, USA
July 31, 2007
Size: Approximately 1 1/2"
In all the file photos I found, this comes the closest to 'Ammophila pictipennis', but the wings are not orange. What would the common name of this critter be? My purple coneflowers are attracting all sorts of good stuff these past few days. Again, we are at 6500' elevation in a ponderosa pine environment. Thanks!

Ammophila but not pictipennis
species ID of Ammophila is very often difficult
