Laccophilus fasciatus? - Laccophilus fasciatus

This water beetle looks the closest to Laccophilus fasciatus, but there were no examples of the species from Florida. It was seen in late summer in temporary man-made pools.

Thank you very much for the ID help and for the guide reference. I have looked at it and it looks as though it will be a lot of help with my other aquatic beetles.

Sorry John, I had the wrong vingtage for your manual.
I had already downloaded (and found very useful) your 2010 edition. I guess I just assumed that Bug Guide was up to date in this matter.
