Wolf Spider - Dolomedes - male

Wolf Spider - Dolomedes - Male
Auburn, Lee County, Alabama, USA
July 31, 2007
Size: body=25mm; leg tips = 60+
This spider was found in the crawl space under my house. Suggest it is in the Hogna genus, perhaps in the Hogna lenta group. Comments appreciated.

Moved from Fishing Spiders.

Moved to species group, as I am not certain what (if any) features can be used to reliably separate tenebrosus from okifenokensis in areas where their ranges may overlap.

Dolomedes is once again tryin
Dolomedes is once again trying to blend its way into the wolf spider club. That's OK because there is a wolf spider that tried to get into the Dolomedes club, and reporters snuck into North Korea.

This
is a female fishing spider.
Looks like D. tenebrosus.
Great image.
