stem borer? - Chelonychus longipes
Maggie's Prairie, Plymouth County, Iowa, USA
August 2, 2014: collected a lep larva on Prairie Sage, Artemisia ludoviciana. Successful rearing.

April 30, 2015: cleaning out the rearing jar found one dead weevil and evidence of stem boring/feeding. The top hole is larger and filled to overflowing with frass.
I have not found documentation that the weevil is a stem borer. Any information would be appreciated.
