I thought this distinctive moth would be easy to find in BugGuide. I searched through Crambidae, Pyralidae and Tortricidae, but not luck. Any help is much appreciated.

Moved from Phycitini.

Moved
Moved from Butterflies and Moths. I like Ann's suggestion. I figured this had to be in this tribe, but a search through all BugGuide Phycitini submissions from AZ turned up nothing close. I guess I needed to look one state over!

Thanks so much for moving this moth. I think Ann Hendrickson has found the correct species. As I wrote her, it's on Opler's list of moths found in RMNP. Almost all the moths I find here are on his list. And the photo looks exactly like our moth. I am delighted to find out its name. Thanks so much.

.
Lynn, I have NO experience with this moth, but I have noticed some western submitters posting this species as a possibility . According to MPG you are in the range for the species.

I really think you have it! I checked Opler's moths of Rocky Mountain NP list (1998 versionb) and it's there. The Park is higher elevation, but most of the moths I find here are also on his list. And, it looks exactly like the photo you found. Thank you so very much.
