Eucosma gomonana

Eucosma gomonana
Henderson, Chester County, Tennessee, USA
April 20, 2014

Not Sure
How was this identified? E. gomonana is gray, not reddish brown. All the other images in BugGuide are probably misidentified Eucosma baggetti Wright & Gilligan, 2019 (1), which has forewings typically more brown with markings less strongly expressed than gomonana. I'm pretty sure this is not baggetti. The forewing markings are more consistent with gomonana but they seem a little off and and the color does not appear to match. I'm hoping it is gomonana as we have no examples that I could find.

I sent several specimens to J
I sent several specimens to Jason Dombroskie at Cornell and he identified them for me.

Cool
I just realized your other one is a better match too. I'm adding them but I'l check with Jason too.
