Bug in tree bark - Rhagium inquisitor

Bug in tree bark - Rhagium inquisitor
Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA
January 13, 2017
Size: .5-.75 inches long
I was chopping firewood and noticed this bug under the tree bark. The bark is easily peeling off. Around each bug is a ring. The tree had been dead for a while.
