There are 3 Simplocaria spp. in North America. Based on its elongate form, thick recumbent pubescence, and locality, it appears to be S. metallica.(1)

Yes
The only other elongate form (S. elongata) isn't known in North America south of Canada. The thick recumbent pubescence separates them. This is very similar:

Colorado is not that far from Los Alamos.

Yep totally agree. Bandelier is part of the southern most reaches of the Rockies so it seems reasonable to think this can be part of their range. Thanks!
