Brown Recluse? - Loxosceles

Brown Recluse? - Loxosceles
St. Augustine, St. Johns County, Florida, USA
January 17, 2017
Size: .75"
Found in a high school and observed under dissecting scope. Three sets of two eyes and covered evenly with "hair." Violin shape on cephalothorax faint. Isn't FL outside their typical range?

Recluse spider research
Hello, my name is Lou Coticchio and I am a spider biologist/researcher out of USF in St. Petersburg. I am currently starting my graduate research, which is to verify if there are currently any breeding populations of recluse spiders in the state of Florida, their location, and their possible distribution. I know this is from kind of an old post, but I was wondering if I can get more information, or possibly come investigate that area to see if there is a breeding population. If you could please get back to me as soon as possible, my email is lcoticchio@usf.edu or feel free to reach out via text or call 732-948-6877. Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.

I don't know if these can be narrowed down further with confidence without a clear view of the genitalia.

Loxosceles sp.
This is a really interesting find. It's probably L. rufescens (Mediterranean Recluse). L. reclusa (Brown Recluse) has been spotted in some northern counties of Florida before, however, to the best of my knowledge, it's still not established in the state. It would be great to get an expert's opinion on this find.
