Winter click beetle - Anthracopteryx hiemalis

Winter click beetle - Anthracopteryx hiemalis
Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado, USA
January 28, 2017
Size: ~6-7 mm
Identified by elaterid expert Paul J. Johnson via a Facebook group, with these comments: "Super-nice find! This is a native winter-active species in a monobasic genus. It is endemic from Laramie south to Westcliffe in the Front Ranges." Found on the sidewalk in my neighborhood on a sunny, relatively warm day. Adjacent "habitat" was a vacant lot that passes for degraded shortgrass prairie.
