Heptageniidae (Flatheaded Mayfly), lateral - Maccaffertium mediopunctatum
100 Acre Wood, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA

Maccaffertium
This is highly related to M mediopunctatum and very much so the form nepotellum. I have never seen and (M m arwini) type yet and I don't think it has be officially collected in Iowa.

We should put this under Maccaffertium mediopunctatum / nepotellum based on the highly elevated spiracular spots and median tergite line, till we know more.
