Tibicen tibicen (syn. Tibicen chloromerus)
I agree - on ALL points made by Gerry. (Regarding image 133566 - http://bugguide.net/node/view/133566/bgimage)
The cicada in these images is indeed T. tibicen (Female)!
Gerry's comments are quoted below.
"This specimen is actually Tibicen tibicen (formerly T. chloromerus). The green eyes, green pronotum, green legs, black collar and black mesonotum are all keys to this species.
T. lyricen also has a clearly defined broad black medial stripe located ventrally on the abdomen which this specimen lacks.
In addition T. lyricen cicadas do not have green eyes but dark brown to black eyes and also possess brown legs.
What I do find interesting about this specimen is the red mite behind the right compound eye."
