Size: Wingspan approx. 25mm
Seen on lantana outside the library around 4 PM.

We would say rather that this might be
Syntomeida ipomoeae and it looks like a first for BugGuide! You can find an image at
MPG 8282

yes
it's a wasp moth-- not sure on exact ID, but you might want to look at the following site for plates to match it to
http://www.mbarnes.force9.co.uk/belizemoths/specieslist.htm
in all likelihood, you'll find a match under the
subfamily of Arctiinae (tiger moths)
if no luck there, look at
Ctenuchinae

a Clearwing Moth, possibly genus
