Orthopelma species near erythropa
Among known Nearctic Orthopelma species, uniquely shares with O. erythropa eyes slightly converging ventrally; enlarged pits at lateral edges of clypeus, areolar and petiolar areas of propodeum confluent, and bulge in middle of face. Differs from O. erythropa in black coloration rather than reddish; thin, linear clypeus without sculpturing rather than broad and oval with punctate sculpuring as in O. erythropa, and 19 antennal segments, rather than 16 as in O. erythropa(1).
