Explanation of Names
Specific epithet for the host plan genus (Cordia).
Size
Wingspan 13 mm. (1)
Identification
Distinguishing feature: Second joint of the labial palpi with strong tuft, concealing terminal joint; white at base, light brown at apex, with a small black spot on outer side. Evident in posted specimen. (Ann Hendrickson)
Range
Southwest Texas and Southern Florida, south into the Caribbean. (2)
Type locality: Santiago de las Vegas, Cuba. (1)
Food
Larvae are leaftiers of curaciao bush (Cordia globasa) and liane savon (Gouania polygama). (3), (1)
