Digrammia cf. excurvata - Digrammia excurvata

Digrammia cf. excurvata - Digrammia excurvata
Foothill Ranch, Orange County, California, USA
February 9, 2017
My ID is on the basis that there are only 2 options with this sort of pattern, Digrammia imparilata and excurvata. There are many others but the presence of lines on the hindwings in combination with the forewing pattern looks unique. I rule out imparilata because the hindwing line is about twice as long as it should be in imparilata, and noting that excurvata is the common species here.
