Butterfly on Mud at Low Tide - Limenitis arthemis

Butterfly (Red-spotted Purple?)seems to be enjoying slurping something out of the Chesapeake Bay mud during an extra low tide. While the beaches have sand, the bottom becomes a goopy gray mud not far offshore. I will post one more picture.
