Gonatista grisea - female

Gonatista grisea - Female
Orlando, Orange County, Florida, USA
October 1, 2016
Size: 1.5 inch
Gonatista grisea can be found by using a long stick. They are sensitive to vibrations on the tree, so by tapping the trunk forcefully from as high as can be reached, then slowly going lower and lower to the bottom of the trunk will cause them to run down to get away. The movement will allow you to see them. They can be found in any areas of dense forest, especially near swamps and streams.
