Wonderful Underwing - Catocala mira

Wonderful Underwing - Catocala mira
Angelica, Allegany County, New York, USA
August 3, 2007
A comparison of lighting. Identical/same moth taken under mercury vapor/flash lighting, one on sheet/one on screen. Shows how much the same moth can vary in coloration and can be somewhat misleading when trying to ID, least this is what I have found.
