Hover Fly9 - Syrphus torvus

Hover Fly9 - Syrphus torvus
Coldbrook, Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada
June 18, 2015
I realize this is an area fraught with possibilities but...The first photo I got a certain impression of the species but when I saw the second one, I felt it was likely Syrphus. What does Bill Dean think?

Syrphus torvus
Syrphus torvus ..... female.
The eye hairs are often difficult to see especially in photographs of females but the black frons right to base of antennae and I think there are white hairs showing at the front area of left eye. I am confident this is Syrphus torvus.

Syrphus torvus
Thank you, Bill.
