February 23, 2017: found this larva under bark of Quaking Aspen, Populus tremuloides, but did not get a close up photo
It looked like this

Both larvae had a marking, what I describe as a 2 legged tick
.
But I don't know if other species larvae have a similar/same marking

February 26, 2017: it has already pupated
