Andrena species, Weymouth Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve - Andrena
Weymouth Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve, Moore County, North Carolina, USA

Size: 15 mm
There were 25 or so nests within a 3 meter "circle" at a trail junction. This bee was on a sandy patch that had no visible nest opening and was repeatedly digging all around that one small patch. 2 other bees were doing the same.
