Dermestes frischi - Dermestes

Dermestes frischi - Dermestes
Venice State Beach, Half Moon Bay County, California, USA

Size: 1cm
I'll take more of any specific feature if this isn't enough. Thanks again for the help! Is there anything you'd like me to look for out here or back in Kansas, because I'd be more than happy to send you stuff Jim!

Oh, and I got the ID.. it's Dermestes frischi based on http://www.dermestidae.com/Abbildungen.html and the California Beetle Project. You can see the tan edging of the pronotum with the slight bulge at the posterior end. The spots on the bottom plates (tergites?) match too, as does the marking on the pygidial plate

ID confirmed again.

Excellent!
As for specimens, thank you for the offer, which I will decline. I'm a "bring 'em back alive" sorta guy. In other words, I want to personally collect what I photograph. I enjoy that aspect more than the photography.
