Hey Scott, my source is Dr. Shelley's paper on the family:

Shelley, Rowland M. “The Milliped Family Nearctodesmidae in Northwestern North America, with Accounts of Sakophallus and S. Simplex Chamberlin (Polydesmida).” Canadian Journal of Zoology 72, no. 3 (March 1, 1994): 470–95. doi:10.1139/z94-066.

As far as I know, you can only separate species based on the male gonopods, but I don't have much experience with the species, so maybe there are other body characters that are helpful. The Shelley paper provides a helpful distribution map for the species though, which is how I identified this one. If you need access to the paper, let me know and I'd be happy to send you a PDF.
