Size: approx 17mm
Found nectaring on Bull Thistle, Cirsium vulgare. It was in a "waste area" of the park I was exploring...an abandoned sports field, surrounded by mixed woodland.

It was hard getting any photos of these bees, in fact the rear photo is the first one. When it saw me it took off, that's why the image is a little blurry!
