Aidemona - not a demon? (1)
Numbers
Four (or five) closely similar species in the genus. Western subspecies Aidemona azteca amrami is sometimes elevated to species status since 2003, but evidence suggests that it intergrades widely with eastern ssp. azteca in the U.S. and northern Mexico; further population studies are needed to clarify.
Remarks
Shows some resemblance to members of the mostly South American tribe Dichroplini, but most authors tentatively place it in the Melanoplini.
