Flock of Blues - Celastrina echo
Highway 32 in Deer Creek Canyon about 2 miles south of Potato Patch Campground; near the creek., Tehama County, California, USA
March 17, 2017
There were quite a number of these butterflies flying about. This gathering on the ground was about 20 feet from the creek. They were continually coming and going from this landing place.
I think they may be Subspecies Celastrina echo echo - the Pacific Azure. My thanks for confirmation or otherwise.
The dorsal surface appeared to be all blue for these butterflies.
