Moved, Aeolus livens
Moved from Aeolus.

Moving back to genus level...
the apparently flat scutellum should rule-out A. trilineatus. Perhaps if you sent a pic showing the scutellum laterally better (a quasi-lateral shot) I could confirm.

With regards to going easily on v, he wants me to kick his pygidium... ;-)

Moved from Aeolus trilineatus.

your follow-up images rule-out A. trilineatus
Also, I am not 100% sure, but I do not think trilineatus has been recorded outside of TX (that being said, southern AZ and TX share a good amount of fauna...)

neat
so we're probably looking at a new addition to the guide

Moved tentatively; Blaine will kick my pygidium for this call
Moved from Click Beetles.

Nice..
Thanks V. and Blaine please be easy on V. you both are special people... Gary
