Southern Pine Sphinx - Lapara coniferarum

Southern Pine Sphinx - Lapara coniferarum
12 m. South of Logan, Hocking County, Ohio, USA
July 22, 2013

Moved- Lapara
Moved from Northern Pine Sphinx.

Almost certainly Lapara coniferarum, not L. bombycoides based on appearance and location. In Southern OH hard pines (Pinus rigida, P. virginiana, and P. echinata) are more common than the host plant of L. bombycoides: P. strobus.
