Size: ~ 17 mm
A number of these beetles came to black light in a Palo Verde grove with scattered mature Creosote bushes. The whitish material on the body was slightly iridescent and rubbed off easily.

Schizax! Will be back this coming week, so will look.

 
I see several data records...
on-line for P. mucorea from S. California. Some from Indio, and some from near Glamis.
