Not Barnes' Lichen Moth
Moved from
Cisthene
. My recent review indicates that Barnes' Lichen Moth is characterized by a gray vertex, not orange as in the present moth. The common discussion about the PM band being solid or broken into pieces has proven to be too variable in both species and less reliable. One small aspect that *may* be useful--and still needs field testing--is that the outer (distal) margin of the PM band on Barnes' is usually (82%) slightly convex, lending an overall convex look to the band (whether intact or broken). In Thin-banded (as here), that outer edge of the PM band is usually straight or slightly concave.

Maybe not
The spots are touching and interrupting the thin line. This looks more like
Cisthene barnesii
.
Sometimes these species are variable and it is very difficult to say.
