Tortoise-Shell-like moth - Selenia kentaria - male

Tortoise-Shell-like moth - Selenia kentaria - Male
Bullitt County, Kentucky, USA
March 27, 2017
Size: medium
Very distinctive tortoise shell marked moth that rests like a skipper butterfly with wings closed attracted to the light overnight. I looked at owlet and tortrid? moths but couldn't find a match so decided to ask the experts. Several more images to follow.

Moved from ID Request.

The (dorsal) PM line seems to be much more straight on the Northern Selenia Moth and curvy on this one. Otherwise, they look very similar from the top side.

Looks like Geometridae to us

Kent's Geometer - Selenia kentaria?
Looks like a match though your picture is a little darker. Thanks for the ID!
