I've looked at your file photos and come closest to 'bombylius major'. Is this what I have in my flowers? We are at 6500' elevation in the ponderosa pines southeast of Denver. Thanks!

Thanks much. I started looking at 'bee flies' and went from there with no luck. This is definitely the fellow I see in my garden.
