Looks different from the Six-spotted Bromeliad Fly I was seeing 10 feet away from this one - Parhelophilus - Female
Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, USA
August 16, 2016
The flies I'd photographed 10 feet away from this one have been identified as Six-spotted Bromeliad Fly. This one looked different. Female, but who? Found at White Rock lake, sunset bay, mid morning on Indian Potato plant.

Moved
Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Yes. Parhelophilus ........
Yes. Parhelophilus ........
Small distinct pterostigma
Eyes widen gradually which makes me think female. Males parallel for some distance and even narrowing before widening.

Thanks
I'll go put female in again. :)

Parhelophilus I think
Looks like Parhelophilus.

That would be nice
Checked my archives and I have not captured that genus before.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Relative
This may be one of the Syrphidae where both sexes have separated eyes.

Duly noted
Lol, just when I thought I finally had it down regarding eyes together is male and eyes separated is female. ;) I'll remove gender until someone here tells me otherwise.
